【 1-page Abstracts : Aims and scope of the 1-page abstracts track in ISBI】
The goal of this track is twofold. The first overall goal is to communicate late scientific findings and open up ISBI to a broader audience of imaging scientists (in particular from the biology, radiology and physics communities) and to encourage cross-fertilization. The scope of the abstract track is complementary to the regular track with the aims of (a) stimulating future algorithmic, mathematical, and computational contributions by the traditional ISBI community, and (b) promoting the transfer of advanced algorithms to the practice of bio-imaging. Authors of full 4-page papers that were not accepted for the regular submission track but received positive reviews are encouraged to submit their work as an abstract.
The second overall goal is to provide a forum for presentation of a selection of manuscripts published by IEEE journals that are sponsored by the Engineering in Medicine or Biology Society and/or by the Signal Processing Society (the ISBI Sponsoring Societies) as follows. All peer-reviewed journal papers published by EMBS or SPS during 2018 whose topic is in the biomedical imaging and image analysis domains are eligible for presentation at ISBI 2019, subject to space availability and approval by the ISBI Program Chairs. Requests for presentation of such papers should be made by submitting a one-page abstract of the paper through the ISBI 2019 website on or before the submission deadline (January 15, 2019). Approved requests for presentation must have one author/presenter registered for the symposium according to the ISBI 2019 registration rates. The final format of presentation (oral or poster) is the decision of the ISBI 2019 Program Chairs. The accepted abstracts will not be published in IEEE Xplore or indexed otherwise.
Only 1-page abstract submissions will be considered. Any documents that exceed the 1-page limit will be rejected. Accepted abstracts presented at the meeting will be neither published in the conference proceedings nor in IEEE Xplore.

=== ISBI2019@Venice ===
Dates: April 8-11, 2019
Venue: Hilton Molino Stucky, Venice Italy
The IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) is a scientific conference dedicated to mathematical, algorithmic, and computational aspects of biological and biomedical imaging, across all scales of observation. It fosters knowledge transfer  among different imaging communities and contributes to an integrative approach to biomedical imaging. ISBI is a joint initiative from the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). The 2019 meeting  will be held in Venice, Italy and will include tutorials, challenges and a scientific program composed of plenary talks, invited special sessions, as well as oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed papers. High-quality papers are requested containing  original contributions to the topics of interest including image formation and reconstruction, image processing and analysis, dynamic imaging, visualization, image quality assessment, machine learning for big image data, and physical, biological, and statistical  modeling. Accepted 4-page regular papers will be published in the symposium proceedings published by IEEE and included in IEEE Xplore. To encourage attendance by a broader audience of imaging scientists and clinical professionals and to offer additional presentation  opportunities, ISBI 2019 will include special sessions with specific clinical focus and it will continue to have a second track featuring posters selected from 1-page abstract submissions.
